SCRIP for Music Ministry

What is Scrip? Scrip is gift card fundraising. It is a different way to fundraise, taking gift cards and turning them into dollars raised for the Music Ministry Programs. Here’s how it works.

Purchase a gift card for $10-$100 for some place you’re already going to spend money – gas station, grocery store, restaurant, etc. You pay the face value of the card, no additional fees, and have the dollar amount on the gift card to spend. The Board of Music receives a discount when we purchase these cards, hence, we have made a small profit on the gift card and you have your full dollar amount to spend!

For example, you purchase a $100 gift card for Pick N Save. You have $100 to spend. The Scrip Pick N Save card cost us $96 to purchase, so the Board of Music profits $4. The Board of Music has used this money to support our Music Ministry here at Hope. The Scrip program has helped us purchase items such as: New handbell tables, foam pads, black velvet coverings, new choir folders, whiteboard for the Music Studio (to replace the old chalkboard), cross banner for the Music Studio (to inspire both adults and children as they make music!), and
shirts for Children’s Choir.

This year, we plan to use the funds raised to help with the purchase of a new drum set for the 10:30 service. (Did you know the current drum kit is now 20 years old!)

Scrip is sold almost every weekend. We have some Scrip gift cards in stock. If we do not have what you would like, it can be ordered. The ordered Scrip will arrive in 1-2 weeks. Visit us at the Welcome Center to learn more!

Times available:
Saturday, 5:30 PM service for 15 min after the service has ended
Sunday, 8:00 AM service for 15 min after the service has ended
Sunday, 10:30 AM service for 15 min before the service starts

Loaves & Fishes

Hope Lutheran serves six Monday night meals each year as part of the city-wide Loaves & Fishes program.  In 2024, Hope prepared 1,034 meals, nearly twice as many meals as last year.  We have seen an increase in the number of Fond du Lac families struggling with food insecurity.  Our congregation’s support is very important to many of our neighbors.  Our standard meal includes chicken, potato wedges, fresh carrots, 2 home-made cookies, bread & butter, and milk.  Any extra meals are delivered to the St. Katharine Drexel Shelter.  In 2024, 134 meals (plus any extra food) were delivered to the shelter.

Hope Lutheran has between 8-13 volunteers serving at each of the meals.  We supplement our congregation’s donations with the financial support of Thrivent Action teams and this year we also received a local Kwik Trip grant.

Since there are no meals offered next week, Hope also provided food gift bags.  Items included this year were an apple, orange, sausage stick, string cheese, fruit snacks, homemade snack mix, trail mix, cookies, Hot Chocolate, and a couple candy canes and Hershey kisses.

Please continue to pray for our neighbors who struggle with food insecurity and those who serve them. We would like to thank our volunteers and donors for their dedication to our mission.

2025 Save the Date: December 8th.

 Thank you!

Friendly Reminder –Be alert for scams. Pastor will never text or email you asking you to go and purchase gift cards or any other items.
